GAMMA CHI IN THE COMMUNITY

This page is to highlight the work that the brothers do outside of the fraternity and how the fraternity extends the helping hand through the Randolph-Macon and Ashland community.

A Merry Christmas

Back in December, the chapter raised for a local family in need and provided a special Christmas that they may not have otherwise had.

Adopt-a-Highway

The chapter is in the process of adopting a stretch of Route 1, just south of Sheetz's at the Town of Ashland and Hanover County line.

The requirements of the program are to clean our section of the road four times a year for two years.

Our first cleanup was Sunday April 13th and the brothers described it a good experience and a wonderful community service project.

Sophomores in Italy

Recently, three of the sophomore brothers made a travel abroad trip for their January Term. Brent Wagner, Scott Maskell and Patrick Kimmel left January 10, 2003 in order to study the heritage of Christianity in 5 Italian cities, which included Florence, Sienna, Assisi, Sorrento and Rome. Throughout the 13 day session, the men visited many of Italy trademarks like the Coliseum, the Duomo of Florence and Sienna, and the Vatican City. All three brothers are members of Randolph-Macon mens soccer team, and were pleased to get a taste of Italian soccer while abroad. They attended a match between Fiorentina and Bologna both of Italys Serie C. The experiences they shared will remain with them forever and gave them a common bond that is second to none.
